Gong Xi Fa Cai.

Hi everyone, today is the beginning of a year for Chinese ^.^
The Chinese New Year is defined to be the first day of
the year in the traditional Chinese calender.

On the first day of CNY, the most important thing to do is to visit the older and
more senior members of the families.
Hence, my family are going to pay a visit to our grandparent's house ^.^

Let's spice up the CNY look with plush, luxurious yet soft textile - velvet.
Love this luxe fabric have a lovely smooth texture, feel soft to touch.

Velvet is definitely to add a touch of glam into any look.
Opt for an artsy direction with bold pattern,
like fabulous red roses for a more festive look.

Floral on velvet are executed with an utter sense of whimsy and femininity.

Paired with black pumps and red accessories for a classy yet stylish look.
Team up with bold cherry necklace, making it lush, vibrant and adding depth.

A thin ribbon belt in red is to highlight the waistline as
the vintage dress a bit oversized for me.

Dramatic floral dress is all you need for festive, wear them with poise and elegance.
Have fun with the gorgeous velvet!

Wishing you all a happy and prosperous Chinese New Year.

The Ugly Duckling.

The floral trend has been on trend for few seasons,
but it's looking like one trend that will never go, at least in my closet!

Especially loving the head-to-toe floral print look -
whether it's matching in same print or mix matched different floral pattern.

It's fun, bold and definitely a trend that have to get a little creative though ^.^
I believe we all have some floral pieces hanging in our (or mom's) closet, don't we?

Just pull them out and start the matching game!
We kind of expect the unexpected when it come to mix match the floral pieces.

Found an old blouse that features flowers embroideries in mom's closet ^.^
Embroideries embellish the top with flourishing yellow mini flowers.
Lovely.

Traditional needle and thread embroidery is certainly beautiful and eye-catching.
I did really appreciate the handiwork of a truly beautiful art form.

Team up white pants with white floral for a subtle blooming look.
Tuck in the floral top to give definition to the prints.

Keep accessories minimal to avoid looking too busy on mismatching floral trend.
However I try punch up the delicate look with a statement necklace and earrings.

Fringe woven bag do add a boho vibe to the outfit.
Slip into a pair of olive green (or any color from the outfit) ballet flat for
a pull together appear.

Hey girl, I just can't wait for the coming Chinese New Year holidays!

Candy Crush.

Indulge our wardrobe with candy style. Sweet!
Candy hues with sweet sorbet colors looks good enough to eat.

Think color palette that's sweet as candy,
like soft pink, pale lilac, butter yellow and baby blue.

I love to use colors to express my mood on outfit.
Hence, wearing sugary shades are definitely for a sweet dreamy day ^.^

Girls have the tendency of those soft and pale tones which makes us feel feminine.
Pastel colors are easy to wear, versatile and keep you feeling ice-cream cool.

This basic knits dress look romantic and whimsical in lavender hue.
Personally I adore pale lilac as its remind me of fairy tales ^.^

Surgary sweet accessories are a great way to add a girly touch to anything.
Pastel dress match with playful candy necklace for a deliciously stylish look.

Rock the candy look head-to-toe with pink ballet flats.
Pastel pink could almost work as neutral with a variety of looks.

Play it bold yet demure with lovely pastel palette.

Let's dress like eat-me-up gorgeous and enjoy the sugar-sweet weekend!
